Description:

There are two supposed origins to St. Elizabeth’s YS Falls very short name: that it was derived from Gaelic word ‘Wyess’ meaning winding or twisting; that it  comes from the names of two Lieutenants in 1684, John Yates and Colonel Richard Scott, who combined the first letter of their surnames. The falls opened in 1992 on the site of an old sugar cane plantation and a supplier of logwood that operated in the 17th century. YS Falls has seven tiers and is a nature attraction of waterfalls cascading into natural pools and lush green vegetation. It also houses a cattle ranch and a thoroughbred horse farm. A 10 minute jitney ride takes you across the estate to the falls where you can swim in the pools and take canopy tours over the falls.
